As we continue the spring training roster preview mini-series on the YouTube channel, Clint welcomes back Jeff Snider from the Locked on Dodgers podcast. In episode two of the four part series, the Dodgers outfield and bench is explored, taking a good look at an overall unit that could be exceptional in 2024.

This offseason, the Dodgers brought in All-Star slugger Teoscar Hernàndez and speedy outfielder Manuel Margot to help reshape things in the outfield. Hernàndez will provide a boost in left field, an area of offensive weakness last season.

No, seriously, the Dodgers were among the worst teams in baseball in offensive production last season.

Along with Hernàndez, Margot comes over to LA via trade from Tampa Bay and is expected to be part of a right field platoon with the returning Jason Heyward. Heyward/Margot and Hernàndez join second year center fielder James Outman to form and outfield that could be great this coming season.

Moving on to the bench, not much has changed here. Chris Taylor and Miguel Rojas will be the top options off the bench in 2024. And Austin Barnes returns in his backup catcher and player/coach role. It could be one of the better constructed benches in the game, especially if CT3 can regain his 2021 All-Star form.

How will the new additions fit in? Where can things go wrong and do the Dodgers have enough depth to survive the long season?
